FAQ

How to brew

Experience the exceptional flavors of Don Alfredo Coffee with every cup. For optimal results, we recommend starting with a coffee-to-water ratio of 1:16 (15 g of coffee per 240 g of water) and a water temperature between 195–205°F (90–96°C).

Grind your coffee fresh and adjust the grind size to your preferred brewing method. Whether using a pour-over, French press, or drip coffee maker, experiment with brewing time and extraction to discover your perfect cup.

For detailed brewing guides, explore The Brew, our collection of coffee recipes and brewing techniques.

How should I store my coffee to keep it fresh?

To keep your coffee as fresh as possible, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Avoid exposure to light, heat, and moisture. We recommend using the coffee within two weeks of opening for the best flavor.

Is it available in whole bean or pre-ground?

We offer it in both whole bean and pre-ground options. Whole beans are ideal for those who prefer to grind their coffee fresh before brewing, while our pre-ground option is convenient for quick, easy brewing.

What’s the best grind size?

The best grind size depends on your brewing method. For a French press, use a coarse grind. For pour-over or drip coffee, a medium grind is ideal. If you’re making espresso, go for a fine grind. Adjust the grind size to suit your personal taste and brewing preferences.

Why our coffee stands out

GROWN AT ORIGIN

Coffee begins with the land.

Our coffees are grown on our family farms in the mountains of Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. From Finca Las Mercedes to Proyecto Pico Duarte, we cultivate coffee at elevations reaching 1,775 meters, where cooler mountain conditions allow each harvest to develop its own character.

CRAFTED THROUGH PROCESS

We shape each coffee from cherry to seed.

Our work continues long after harvest. Through Washed, Honey, Natural, Black Honey, and Winey processing methods, we carefully explore how fermentation, drying, and time can reveal different expressions of sweetness, fruit, acidity, body, and aroma.

ROOTED IN FAMILY

A family tradition since 1989.

What began with Don Alfredo Díaz in 1989 continues through generations of our family. Decades of growing, processing, learning, and experimenting have shaped the way we approach coffee today—honoring where we started while continually pursuing greater quality.
